We have some big news to share as we head into 2020:

Libro.fm is launching a new website called Bookstore Link on January 8th.

Bookstore Link connects readers to local bookstores by allowing authors, publishers, and bookstore fans to drive traffic to the websites of independent bookstores.

When someone links to a book on Bookstore Link...

...the reader chooses their independent bookstore of choice...

...and is connected directly to that bookstore’s website to make their purchase.

The best part?

The chosen bookstore keeps 100% of the book sale!

Take it for a test drive before the launch:

We hope that, in the hands of authors and publishers, Bookstore Link will be a powerful tool for driving traffic and sales to your website.

What do you need to do? The short answer is not much. Albee Romero on our team is leading the author outreach efforts and will continue to build on the movement of authors sending readers to bookstores instead of Amazon. If you'd like to help spread the word, please share our Bookstore Link launch announcement on social media on 1/8 and tell your author friends about Bookstore Link.

Here’s a summary of what Bookstore Link will accomplish:

  1. Provide an easy way for authors to add a single link to their site or on social media that will support all bookstores
  2. Promote print and audiobooks from bookstores with a single link
  3. Direct 100% of the print revenue to bookstores
  4. Increase traffic to IndieCommerce and IndieLite stores
  5. Improve print and audio matching/integration for IndieCommerce and IndieLite sites
  6. Increase phone orders through bookstores
  7. Provide a way for small/micro stores with no online sales to grow their business
  8. Enable authors to link to ALL bookstores or pick individual stores (e.g., event or hometown store) for their promotions
  9. Incentivize authors and publishers based on bookstore and Libro.fm reporting to the New York Times.
  10. Deliver an international solution for authors to link to ABA stores and indies globally
  11. Build on the movement to highlight why bookstores and booksellers matter
Frequently Asked Questions

Bookstore Link is not a discovery tool to help readers find books. Instead, it is an easy way for authors, publishers, and bookstore fans to link to specific books and drive sales to all independent bookstores.

Please keep this to yourself until we make the formal announcement on the morning of Wednesday, January 8th. We will share additional details and materials for authors in the coming weeks and invite you to email us at bookstores@libro.fm with any questions or ideas.
